I just turned in the grade draft of the capstone for my masters in data science. After 18 months in this program, I have a new appreciation for the cocky little 17 year old kid who, back in 1988, wrote an AI application in BASIC on his Commodore 128 on a dare! For 30 years I’ve joked that the app was “complete crap”, but in retrospect he actually got a lot of the basic principles right.Never doubt the genius of youth. These goofy kids may not be mature enough to pick their underwear up off the floor, but they’re smarter than we give them credit for.
